DOUGHTY: LADS HAVE FELT CONFIDENT

8 October 2013

Michael Doughty spoke to Boro Player about tonight's Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over MK Dons and his goal that wasn't!

The on-loan midfielder told us, "It's been a difficult period for us obviously with the string of results but the lads have felt confident that winning performance were not that far away. We were relieved more than anything to get a win under our belts."

On his disallowed goal, which happened at the same time when the referee decided to give Boro a penalty instead of playing on, he said, "I don't think anyone really picked up on it! I was just about to put the ball in the back of the net. I faked to shoot and had an open goal and then the ref blew the whistle! I'm still waiting for that first goal obviously but hopefully that will come and as long as we keep getting the results that's the most important thing."
