GW AND TEAM TO FUND SA COACH TO MK

Stevenage is no ordinary Football Club. That is for sure.

 

It isn't too often that a Manager and his players take genuine and real responsibility for a poor performance, but on Sunday morning, after losing 3-1 at home to Carlisle, manager Graham Westley contacted the supporters association to let them know that he and his players would pay for the fans' coach travel to Milton Keynes next weekend out of their wages.


Every supporter that has already booked onto the SA coach for next weekend's clash will have their travel paid for by the Boro management team and players, and those on the coach will have their match ticket funded too.

 

Speaking to the official website this morning Westley said, “The players agree with me that we must deliver for our fans.


“We do not take their support for granted and this is our way of saying we care, we are sorry and we appreciate you. Our young squad have shown great maturity in making this gesture. They should be applauded as men for taking responsibility”.
