TEAM LOOKING FORWARD TO HOME COMFORTS

20 September 2013

Boro return to the Lamex on Saturday for the first time in three weeks and the team can’t wait to get back out there in front of the home crowd. After two long away trips to the north-west, the chance to pick up three points at home is getting everyone excited, including Graham Westley.

“You always prefer playing at home than playing away; I think your home patch is one that you know well, one you become familiar with.

“Every footballer and football manager loves playing in front of his own crowd.”

Despite starting the season poorly, Graham was cautious to underestimate Carlisle.

“We know that they’re going to be in the frame of mind to produce for the caretaker, they showed that last weekend.

“We know what we can expect; a very hard working team performance from them and they’ll be determined to post another decent result.

“BUT you’ve got to remember that we’re going to be determined to post our first home victory in the league!”

Peter Hartley admitted that he’s keen to get back in front of the home crowd, after only playing twice at the Lamex since he joined.

“We’ve had a lot of away games but the fans have been different class, they seem to really get behind the team and it’s like a twelfth man... so long may that continue!”

When speaking about the challenge Carlisle will pose, he held nothing back in his assessment of the match-up between the two sides.

“I expect us to win the physical battle, I expect us to be better than them with the ball, and I expect us to be fitter than them so I don’t see any reason why we can’t win the game!”
