With a goal to his name and three points in the bag for Boro, Charlie Lee was understandably a happy man at the end of yesterday's win at AFC Wimbledon.
Another commanding performance from the midfielder saw him continue to impress in an attacking midfield role and he was relieved to find the back of the net after being thwarted in his attempts over the past few weeks. He told us, "I've had a few this season when they just keep bringing me down. I suppose the free-kick I won in the first half we scored from, so if they keep bringing me down we've got good set pieces with Walts. I got my goal today and I needed one.
"When you're in the box you try and get unmarked, so I just pulled off the centre-half and you just hope. When you've got delivery like that there's nothing better. I think Jerome was much better today and he looked a player. When you're getting your full backs getting that high, delivering that kind of quality you're going to be a threat. I'd like to think I'm a threat in the air so if the ball's there I'll be glad to get a finish on it."
