FANS ADVISED OF A1(M) CLOSURES IN NEXT FORTNIGHT

28 August 2014

Road closures in operation for next week's Johnstone's Paint Trophy game

Stevenage fans who use the A1(M), particularly on a match day, are advised to be aware of upcoming road closures in the next fortnight.

The Club has today been informed that resurfacing works will be taking place southbound between Junction 7 for Stevenage and Junction 6 for Welwyn. As a result the A1(M) southbound will be closed between these junctions on week nights only (8pm-5am) between Monday 1st September and Friday 12th September.

A clearly signposted diversion will be in place and fans are advised to leave extra time for journeys.

This road closure will be of particular note for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie against Gillingham next Tuesday (2nd September). With the southbound carriageway closing at 8pm, any Stevenage and Gillingham fans travelling north to Stevenage up the A1(M) for the match will need to find an alternative route home after the game.

Gillingham fans returning to Kent are advised to take the A602 to the A10 at Ware and head south to the M25. Alternatively from the A10 they can take the A414 through Harlow to the M11 and head south, before joining the M25.

Tickets for this JPT game continue to prove hugely popular thanks to the Club’s “Football for a Fiver” offer. Tickets for all ages in all stands will be just £5 in advance, with tickets for U16s also £5 on the night. All other tickets on the turnstiles will be £10. Click here for all the details.
