Two of Boro's youngsters got off to a flying start with their respective loan clubs in the opening weekend of league fixtures.

In the Vanarama Conference Premier, Jo N'Guessan was a 69th minute sub for Aldershot who won 3-1 at home to Altrincham. All the goals had been scored by the time the Boro loanee came on, however he still looked bright in his 21 minute cameo, shooting over the bar with one effort and seeing another parried from close range.

Meanwhile in the Vanarama Conference South, George Allen played the full 90 mins as Bishop's Stortford left it late to pick-up all three points at Weston-super-Mare. The game looked to be heading for a goalless draw until Ryan Melaugh struck in injury time to win it 1-0 for the Blues.

Fejiri Okenabirhie's competitive debut for Farnborough didn't prove quite as successful as his side fell to a 2-0 defeat at Boreham Wood. Farnborough failed to really recover from a first minute 30-yard volley into the top corner from Graeme Montgomery but did improve as the game went on, with Fejiri having a couple of half-chances.
