STEVENAGE FC FOUNDATION LAUNCH COMMUNITY ZONE AT THE LAMEX

22 August 2014

Stevenage FC Foundation has today announced the creation of a Community Zone within The Lamex Stadium's West Stand for the duration of the 2014/15 Sky Bet League Two season.

Located in the north-west wing of the West Stand, the Community Zone will be made up of 300 seats and will be used by the club's Foundation to reward participants from its programmes and engage new people with the football club.

Last season the Foundation engaged with 75,000 people in the local community through its 100+ weekly sessions it delivers to over 80 schools and a variety of community organisations.

Alex Tunbridge, Head of Foundation, stated "the Community Zone will allow us provide our participants and community organisations with that first match experience. Many people we engage with in the community have never been to the stadium and having this area will allow us to start converting participants into true Stevenage supporters".

Throughout the season a variety of local schools will visit the Community Zone including the Foundation's 42 Partner Schools who have all been given season tickets in the Zone to reward pupils' achievements.

The Foundation's 65 National Citizen Service participants who have recently completed a four social engagement programme with the charity will be the first guests welcomed to the Community Zone on Saturday, when we host Wycombe Wanderers at The Lamex Stadium.
