STEVENAGE TO HOST GILLINGHAM IN JOHNSTONE'S PAINT TROPHY

16 August 2014

Stevenage have been handed a home tie against Gillingham in the first round of the 2014/15 Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

The draw took place a short time ago on Soccer AM and will see Graham Westley's men host the League 1 side here at The Lamex Stadium.

The tie is due to take place on Tuesday 2nd or Wednesday 3rd September. Confirmation of the fixture date and ticket prices will follow in due course.

Stevenage, of course, made it to the area semi-finals of this competition last season, beating Leyton Orient and MK Dons before suffering penalty heartbreak at Swindon Town after a 1-1 draw at The County Ground.

Meanwhile this season will see the introduction to the competition of the vanishing spray seen regularly at the World Cup in Brazil.
