Stevenage U18s fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to the IMG Academy U18s in their second IMG Cup game in Florida.
There were eight changes to the side which started the Brentford win with only Ross Millard, George Casey and Louis Yamfam retaining their places and it took a while for Boro to get going in this one, despite Yamfam hitting the crossbar early on.
IMG scored the only goal of the game after 10 minutes with a free header from a free-kick and although they were bright in periods of possession they failed to really trouble guest goalkeeper Colin Smith too much throughout the game.
A much brighter performance in the second half saw Stevenage on top for the vast majority, but unlike the night before the final balls through or crosses from the flanks failed to trouble the home defence who hung on for the win.
After two games in less than 24 hours Stevenage now have just over 48 hours to prepare for their next match against Black Rock FC on Saturday, kick-off 4pm UK time.
