PLAYERS SPREAD CHRISTMAS CHEER AT THE LISTER HOSPITAL

10 December 2014

Members of the Stevenage first team along with Boro Bear spent some time at the Lister Hospital last night as they gave out Christmas gifts to children.

Organised by the Supporters Association, Chris Day, Simon Walton, Charlie Lee, Chris Beardsley, Darius Charles and Dean Parrett visited the Bluebell Ward where they thrilled youngsters with the surprise visit.

One player who goes along to the Lister each year, Chris Day said, “It was a pleasure to be invited to meet the families at the hospital along with the hard working and often under-appreciated nurses and staff. We hope that we put a smile on their faces at a difficult time for them, because they certainly did ours. We wish them all a happy Christmas and good health."

The club would like to thank Claire Hickey for helping organise the event along with Jacky Berners for planning and sorting presents which were kindly supplied by the Supporters Association. A final thanks to

Papa Johns for supplying pizzas for patients and staff last night!
