The gaffer's thoughts ahead of tomorrow night's game against Crewe...

Graham Westley was in an up-beat mood after training on Monday, the day before Boro's big game with Crewe at The Lamex.

“Every game is always treated like a cup final and a cup final is treated like every game, that’s the way it has to be. We’re in a precarious situation; everybody knows that, it’s been a tough season.

“I actually quite like where we’re at, bizarrely. The mood in the camp has changed, there’s been a lot of goings and a few comings. The comings that have walked through the door recently we haven’t been able to put them out on the pitch yet, but they’ve started to bed in and look ready to go.

“I think everybody knows know that three back to back defeats isn’t what we want and isn’t acceptable to us, but we also know there’s been a lot of good things in those three performances and they were all against top 6 sides. We've got to make sure that we’re intelligent enough to be positive about what we’ve just been doing, but also honest enough to know we need to get better.

“We obviously know the urgency in which we need to do that but we've also got to make sure we don’t lose our patience because it’s not going to help people to play under ludicrous pressure. What they need is confidence, encouragement and support.

“I’m really enthusiastic about where we’re at. I like the mood in the camp and I like the flavour on the training ground; I saw some great things out there this morning.”
