Stevenage manager Graham Westley said a combination of the right spirit and the right mentality from his squad contributed towards the FA Cup win at Doncaster today.
He told Boro Player, “Coming into today I fancied us. I thought with the players we had coming back we had a chance of producing a defensive performance. With the players that we had in we had a chance of producing an attacking performance.
“If you can attack and defend you’ve got a chance. We came here with the right mentality, we came here to win the game. In the FA Cup there’s no prizes really for getting the draw.
“We came here with the right spirit, we had players coming back and our best team is always going to produce results. There’s no question about that.
“The spirit’s there, the hunger’s there – we’ve got to make sure we carry that forward into the league now and get points on the board before Round Four."
