CLUB PARTICIPATING IN TWO BIG LOCAL EVENTS THIS WEEKEND

6 June 2014

Stevenage FC taking part in Stevenage Day and the Mayor's annual Dragon Boat Race

Stevenage FC will be out and about in the local community at two big events this weekend.

The Club will be present at Stevenage Day this Sunday (8th June) at King George V Playing Fields, from midday until 5pm. Fans can have a look at the brand new home and away shirts, try the STS Tyre Pros Challenge, meet Boro Bear, find out more about 14/15 season tickets and events throughout the Club, and enjoy the arena displays, speciality stalls and rides and attractions.

The Stevenage FC Foundation will also be present on a separate stall promoting its NCS scheme, the day after it participates in the Mayor's annual Dragon Boat Race at Fairlands Valley Park on Saturday.

The Boro boat will consist of Foundation and Club staff as well as young people from the community, comprising three men, three women, three U16s - plus a drummer! The first race will start at 10.45am, while the final race of the day will be between Stevenage mayor Sherma Batson and St Albans mayor Annie Brewster and their two dream teams.

That caps a busy week for the Foundation which has also delivered over 85 sports participation and education based sessions within the local community, including Hitchin, Letchworth, Hertford, Welwyn Garden City and Ware as well as Stevenage.

It has also confirmed volunteer places to 28 people who will be joining the Gambia 2015 trip next April, announced details of Summer Soccer Camps and launched a new online booking system.
