Team news:

Calvin Zola is back out on the training pitch doing individual runs so a full return shouldn’t be too far away. A January return is most likely for the striker. Adam Marriott will be out for the game after suffering a recurrence of his hamstring injury but the rest of the team are in pretty good shape going into the weekend.

Last season…

Morecambe survived comfortably in League 2 last season as they finished 18th, five places ahead of the relegation zone. Morecambe were able to raise their game against the better sides in the division as they actually picked up more points against the top sides in the division than the lower ranked sides. Against the bottom half of the table, Morecambe were ranked 23rd in the division, only able to gather 5 wins out of a possible 22. However against the top half of the table, Morecambe were much improved, winning 8 games.

So far this season…

Morecambe got off to an incredible start to the season, winning each of their first four league games and standing proud at the top of the pile during the early-goings. It was always going to be a (near) impossible task to keep Morecambe at the summit and so it proved as the results began to tail-off and their position down the table did the same. The Shrimps are currently 11th on 26 points, just a couple of points ahead of Boro.

Recent form:

Last time we met:

Boro won 2-0 at home to Morecambe back in January 2011, the last time the two clubs met. On the back of three wins in-a-row, the Shrimps arrived at the Lamex full of confidence but Scott Laird inspired Boro to victory as he scored after only 5 minutes and created an assist for a Morecambe O.G after only 9 minutes to effectively kill off the game

Betting with SkyBet:

Stevenage are even-money favourites going into the game, fantastic odds considering our recent home form. A 1-1 draw is the most popular correct score at 5/1, whilst for those super confident; Boro are 21/10 to be ahead at half-time and full-time. Lee Barnard is 5/1 to open the scoring, whilst Beardo is 11/2.
