AGED 16-17? SIGN UP TO NCS WITH STEVENAGE FC FOUNDATION!

30 April 2015

Stevenage FC Foundation are currently recruiting 16-17 year olds (school year 11 and 12) to join this summer's National Citizen Service (NCS) programme.

NCS is a government backed programme, which encourages young people to gain new life skills to set them up for the next steps in their lives. It is a four week programme, which is being held between the 20th July and the 14th August 2015.

The programme consists of two residential trips across the first two weeks and then the final two weeks are where the young people will get the chance to deliver social action projects in and around the local area.

Programme Dates:
20th July – 24th August – Grosvenor Hall, Kent - this is an outward bound residential trip where participants will take part in activities such as rock climbing, abseiling, zipwire and team building games.

27th July – 31st July – Bedfordshire University, Bedford Campus - Participants will be given the freedom of independent living whilst also taking part in CV workshops, Careers fares and learning about the local community.

3rd August - 14th August – Planning and Delivery of chosen Social Action Projects which will take place in and around Stevenage. This is where participants will be able to give something back to the community as well as take charge and manage a project.

Benefits of NCS:
NCS helps to develop new skills, with workshops and qualifications being held during week 2, such as the Sports Leaders Award and workshops in journalism, fashion, sports and music. As well as all of this, this programme is recognised by UCAS, and is an invaluable asset to be able to put onto your personal statements when applying for Universities, not only just on personal statements but also on CV’s when putting them together to apply for jobs.

Next Steps:
All this costs just £50! That includes accommodation, travel, activities and all meals for the first two weeks. For more information please contact Dani Burge on 01438 222 222 or email ncs@stevenagefc.com. We are also holding an open evening on the 20th May at 7pm in the Broadhall Suite, here at the stadium, where you can find out more and ask any questions.
