BEARDO: HOPEFULLY THE LAMEX WILL BE ROCKING AND IT WILL BE ONE NOT TO BE MISSED

Beardo looks ahead to Northampton on Saturday...

After returning to the side for Monday’s win against Cheltenham, Chris Beardsley says it was far from a perfect performance but that the three points were vital.

“Yeah the three points were the main thing. We believe our performance could have been better over the 90 minutes. Parts of our game we were pleased with and parts we weren’t, but at the end of the day we came away with three points and another clean sheet which is what the aim was.”

Beardo says he is feeling good after recovering from injury and is ready and raring to go for Saturday.

“It’s been tough to be honest, the last four weeks. I have had a couple of little niggles, same hamstring, different problem but I got through 60 minutes quite comfortably the other day.

"That was the plan, we stuck to it and it was fine. I trained as normal this morning and hopefully I’ll be selected and ready to go on Saturday.”

With Northampton only five points behind Boro, Saturday’s game takes on added importance at this late stage of the season. Beardo says the lads are fully focused on only themselves though.

“We have got to look at ourselves. We need and want the three points. It is a home game, a bit of a local derby and we will just concentrate on the 90 minutes to try and get the three points and look after ourselves. That is all we can really do.

“It should be a good game, hopefully the Lamex will be rocking and it will be one not to be missed.

“If we can get the three points on Saturday it will put us in a good place to go into Tuesday but Saturday will be a first port of call and we have got to make sure we are ready to go Saturday 3 o’clock. Between now and then we need to make sure we leave no stone un-turned and are ready to be at our best because we will probably need to be.”
