First 2015/16 season ticket holder explains why he signed up!

Season tickets have been in strong demand since we launched our 2015/16 prices last week and the very first fan to buy was Mark Poplett.

An East Terrace regular, Mark (30) has been coming to The Lamex Stadium since he was young and he had no hesitation in signing up to his sixth year as a season ticket holder.

He told us, “My first game was some time in the 1995/96 season. I became aware of the club when we were close to winning the Conference and have been hooked since.  I attended regularly during our Conference years, but only became a season ticket holder after we got promoted into the Football League.

“I think the season ticket package is very good and you get a lot for your money.  The prices are more than fair and the age ranges are well thought out. The £25 Under-12 season tickets are a great initiative.

“I was always going to get a season ticket for 2015/16 so when I saw I could get it for the same price as I paid last year, I purchased without hesitation.

As well as being a familiar face on the East Terrace, Mark has been an ever-present on the road, travelling from his home in Gainsborough to every league and cup game this season.

“From the outset it was my intention to make this my first 100% season. I don't mind the distance, I devote my Saturday to football / Stevenage and travelling is all part of that.  The Tuesday night games take more commitment - I probably use half my annual leave to enable me to watch every game - especially when the fixture computer throws up Exeter, Plymouth and Portsmouth away all on Tuesday nights!

“Thankfully this season I've been rewarded with, for the most part, entertaining and successful football.  But what happens on the pitch is only one aspect.  It's the people that make the club special and why I stay so loyal.  Everyone does their part in making it one big welcoming football family, which I'm proud to be a part of.”

So what would Mark say to anyone considering a season ticket for 2015/16?

“Buy one!  You save money even if you miss a few games. You get priority for cup games, a free friendly, bring-a-friend vouchers, meet the manager, discount in the club shop...it's a no-brainer for someone who's planning to attend the majority of games.  There's even the option of finance if you can't stump up the money all at once.”

With the playoffs now confirmed and the possibility of promotion still on, why not renew or buy your season ticket today to take advantage of our Early Bird Price Freeze?

Any season tickets purchased on renewed by Friday 22nd May will be frozen at current 2014/15 prices, with prices rising should we win promotion back to Sky Bet League 1. To find out how you can save up to 10% on those increased prices, plus for all the facts about our 2015/16 season tickets, click the link below to download our 2015/16 season ticket brochure or just download a form here!
