View from the dressing room:

With Portsmouth currently 14th in the table, they seemingly have nothing to play for but Simon Walton told us the team won't be fooled into getting complacent.

“As a footballer you have always got something to play for. Whether you are out of contract at the end of the season or if somebody is watching you, you never know. We won’t take it any lighter than we have done every other game, every game is a cup final now for us and the three points are getting more and more important each week.

“We have done brilliantly but we know that the season is not done yet; there is a lot to play for and we have got to pick ourselves up, keep improving and keep working on the things we have to get better at.”

Ones to watch:

Jed Wallace has been Portsmouth’s outstanding player this season, building on a decent first two years at the club. Only 21 years old, he has scored 15 goals from midfield and is regularly the standout player whenever Portsmouth plays.

Another big danger will be Matt Tubbs, one of the league’s premier goal scorers. Tubbs was on-loan at AFC Wimbledon earlier this season and scored 15 goals before moving to Portsmouth in January. Since making the move Tubbs has scored seven goals for his new club.

The story so far…

It has been a disappointing season for Pompey fans, their pre-season hopes of challenging for honours has been quickly quashed as a mid-table place looks very much likely now.

Their away form has been poor with just two wins on the road all season, although their 6-2 victory at Cambridge was certainly a season highlight.

Results this season have eventually taken their toll and Andy Awford stepped down from his post earlier today, with assistant Gary Waddock taking charge of tomorrow’s game.

There is value in a Boro win tomorrow night, 13/10 with official league sponsors, Sky Bet.

For Stevenage to repeat Saturday’s scoreline and win 2-1, you can get 17/2.

Our best bet in the first goalscorer market is Charlie Lee at 11/1.
