Team news:

Fraser Franks is likely to return to training next week after the medial ligament injury in his knee was not as bad as first feared. Connor Ogilvie picked up a shoulder injury late in the game at Yeovil and although he has been back in training late this week, it is not thought he will play tomorrow.

Adam Marriott has a twisted ankle which means he will miss the next couple of games whilst Dean Parrett has a small tear in his thigh which will likely keep him out for a few weeks still.

In long term injury news, Steven Schumacher underwent successful surgery to reconstruct his ACL and is now on the long road to recovery. David McAllister is out of his brace, walking without crutches and is due to see his consultant in 12 weeks time.

The story so far…

Accrington have started the season in superb form – 5th in the table after 19 games and it is their away form that has particularly impressed.

Tomorrow’s visitors have the second best points total in the division as well as the best defence and goal difference away from home. They have also won five of their last six on the road.

Head to Head:

Boro have got the better of Accrington more often than not over the years; 6 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats with a 22-15 goal differential.

We are unbeaten in our last five games against Stanley after a 90th minute equaliser from Chris Beardsley salvaged a point late last season having beaten them 2-1 in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.

Betting with Sky Bet:

You won’t get much better value on a Boro home win this season than on Saturday – we are  12/5 with official league sponsors, Sky Bet.

Although Whelps has slowed down his scoring streak in recent games, he is still favourite to find the net first tomorrow – 13/2.
