BEN KENNEDY SIGNS PROFESSIONAL CONTRACT WITH STEVENAGE FC

18 February 2015

Stevenage FC scholar Ben Kennedy has signed a professional contract with the club.

The 18-year old midfielder made his Football League debut as a second half sub against Oxford last month before being handed his first start at Mansfield and scoring twice in the 3-1 win at Hartlepool last weekend.

The Northern Irish youth international becomes the fourth Stevenage scholar to sign professional terms within the past year.

Chairman Phil Wallace said, “Ben is the second scholar this season to be involved in and around the first team, which is testament to the work being done by everyone at youth level. We are hopeful that a few more will come through over the coming months, to continue to justify the work and investment we’ve made in developing our own players. We all accept that it’s a long process and these lads need time to develop, but we are certainly on the right track now.”

The next chance to see Ben in action is this Saturday's home game against Southend United. Tickets for this half term are available here, ranging from £4-22 in advance. Family packages are £35 (1 adult, 2 U16s) and £50 (2 adults, 2 U16s) in the seats. Details on how to obtain vouchers for free Nando's kids meals can be found here.
