GOALS, GOALS, GOALS AT THE LAMEX IN 2014 - WHAT WILL 2015 BRING?

6 January 2015

Stevenage FC scored one of the highest number of home goals in the Football League in 2014, statistics show.

In total Graham Westley's men scored 41 goals in their 25 league games at The Lamex Stadium over the calendar year, the joint 7th highest in the entire Football League along with Nottingham Forest and MK Dons.

What makes this even more impressive is that the vast majority of teams in that list were playoff-chasing and / or promotion winning clubs, showing that even though results didn't go quite to plan on the pitch in the second half of 2013/14 particularly, the goals and entertainment has still been coming here at Stevenage.

Stats from the Football League which show the most goals scored at home in 2014

10 goals for in our final four home games of 2014 (you can watch these below) suggests that Graham Westley's men are finding form in front of goal and with the likes of Adam Marriott and Calvin Zola only just coming back to first team action, there could be plenty more goals to follow in 2015.

Our first home game of the new year is this Saturday against AFC Wimbledon, who Stevenage beat 3-2 away back in August. Remember it's cheaper to buy in advance for this Category B fixture. Simply visit www.borotickets.co.uk and select the required game or visit the club shop, the opening hours for which can be found here. Don't forget our family packages for the West Stand (home fans) or South Stand (away fans) are also only available in advance.
