PETT EAGER TO KEEP IMPROVING AFTER SIGNING NEW DEAL

13 July 2015

The winger on his new contract....

Tom Pett has put pen to paper and signed a new deal at Stevenage FC, keeping him at the club until 2017.

After an excellent debut season the 23 year old has been rewarded for his performances and speaking shortly after signing the deal, Pett says he is delighted to commit his future.

“Yeah I am really pleased, it hasn’t taken too long thankfully just really excited for the next couple of years now, getting my head down, work hard and hopefully have a good season this year.

“I still have got to keep my feet on the ground; I still have got a lot to learn and hopefully the gaffer and the coaching staff will help me along with that.

“That was one of the big reasons why I signed the new deal, to get better as a player and hopefully this season I can improve and be better than last year."

Having worked under Teddy Sheringham and the new management team for the past ten days, Pett says he is enjoying the changes they have brought to the team.

“The coaching staff have brought a whole new philosophy to us, it has been really good.

“The hard work has been going on without the ball but also with the ball; a lot of short, sharp, passing, movement and I think you could see that at the weekend.”

The first opportunity to watch Pett and the team under Teddy Sheringham at home is on Friday night against Nottingham Forest, buy tickets here.
