SSAFC RAISE £1660 FOR CARDIOMYOPATHY UK AT MITCHELL COLE TOURNAMENT

3 June 2015

The Stevenage Supporters Association FC organised the Mitchell Cole tournament for the third year in a row, hosted at Arlesey Town FC on Saturday 16th May.

The day was a great success with £1,660 being raised for Cardiomyopathy UK, formerly known as The Cardiomyopathy Association which Mitchell was an ambassador for.

The tournament victors were The Cole XI, led by Mitchell's brother Ben who regained the trophy after losing it last year to Barnet. There is no doubt the true winner though was Cardiomyopathy UK after such a fantastic sum was raised.

SSAFC didn’t fair too well on the pitch though, posting just the one victory…

Cambridge 0-0
Barnet 1-1 (Bell)
Wimbledon 0-2
London Carlisle 3-0 (Carroll, Teale, McKechnie)
Cole XI 0-1

SSAFC manager, Keith Bell spoke about the day.

"It has been a fantastic day and there are many people to thank, from Arlesey Town who provided such great facilities to everyone who has donated and helped on the day. Without everyone this wouldn't have been possible and to raise more than last year is a great effort.

“From a personal point of view I feel proud and privileged to have done this in Mitchell's memory and I would like to thank everyone for their generosity and support in continuing to make the tournament a success."
