GW: I THINK THIS CAMP IS READY TO DO WHAT IT TAKES

19 March 2015

The gaffer ahead of Saturday's home game against Dagenham...

After moving up into the play-off places on Tuesday, GW assured the local media that there is no total points tally he is aiming for and as always, he is just looking at one game at a time.

“It is very much a question here of winning the next game and trying to improve your position by keep tallying up points.

“We were 8th before the game the other night, we moved up to 7th and we will go 6th if we win on Saturday.

“We just want to keep winning games, winning points, progressing and moving forward.

“In the end if you keep doing winning games, keep progressing and keep moving forward you get to better places.”

Dagenham will be coming to the Lamex in a rich vein of form but the gaffer is full of confidence should the team play to their strengths.

“They have had a turn in fortunes. Their form has improved greatly; they have won 3 of their last 6 and 3 of their last 4. That is a good return and a record that you can’t afford to underestimate.

“We take confidence from the result at their place over Christmas but we know that they have got a player back in Cureton who has made a consistent difference who did not play at the game back at their place.

“We take nothing for granted; we know that the game at the weekend is a dangerous one and that we will have to play very well.

“We also know that if we are right on our game we will take the three points and resoundingly win the game.”

After suffering awful luck with injuries this season, GW expects a whole host of side-lined players available soon, a big boost ahead of the final nine games of the season.

“I think we will see players from within the names you have just mentioned (Zola, Walton, Beardsley, McAllister & Whelpdale) back available.

“We will have to see how they settle down after doing some work today but I think we will have one or two back.

“As we get towards the back-end of the season when some sides are starting to slow down, I think we will have some injections coming in.

“Boys who are ready to make a real impact, fresh bodies who can come in and give us that little bit of extra charge.

"The football club knows it can succeed in these kind of circumstances, so that gives everybody a confidence.

"As players, the lads who have been in similar situations will draw confidence from that.

"Whenever you have got a mental model of succeeding in certain sets of circumstances, of course it gives you an advantage. You know you can do it.

"We know what it is going to take. We know just how determined you have to be, just how focused you have to be, just how much blood you have got to be willing to spill.

"I think this camp is ready to do what it takes."
