KENNEDY HELPS NORTHERN IRELAND U19S EARN A POINT AGAINST RUSSIA

14 November 2015

Stevenage's Ben Kennedy again played a starring role as Northern Ireland Under-19s picked up a point against Russia in their latest UEFA U19 Championship qualifying game today.

The striker, again wearing the captain's armband, took just six minutes to score his second goal in as many games for his country to put his side 1-0 up. He went close to a second midway through the first half but saw his effort crash against the woodwork.

Despite hitting the woodwork for a second time, Northern Ireland couldn't get a second and their Russian opponents equalised 16 minutes from time.

Northern Ireland now have four points from two matches and play their final match against Slovakia on Monday.
