We preview Saturday's game...

Morecambe FC

Sky Bet League 2

Saturday 28th November

The Lamex Stadium, Stevenage, SG2 8RH

Referee: Lee Collins

Kick-off: 3pm

Ticket news:

Tickets for tomorrow’s game are available at in-advance prices up until 5pm in the club shop and midnight online. You will be able to buy from either the club shop or the turnstiles tomorrow, should you wish to pay on the day.

Shop news:

Take advantage of our Black Friday sale tomorrow in the club shop - all adult and junior shirts have been reduced to £24.99/£22.99.

Team news:

The big news this week is that Steven Schumacher will likely be out for the season after suffering an ACL rupture against Bristol Rovers - he joins fellow central midfielder, David McAllister on the long term injury list.

Dean Parrett was back in training late this week after recovering from a thigh injury so could be back in the squad although a starting berth is unlikely.

Jesse Joronen is now only two to three weeks away from being back in training whilst Ryan Johnson and Jack Jebb are closing in on a return to action.

Finally, three new loanees joined us this week, young goalkeeper Michael Crowe from Ipswich, Callum McFadzean from Sheffield United and Lee Cox from Plymouth. All are available for selection.

The story so far…

Morecambe have had a mixed start to the season, currently placed 16th, 5 points ahead of Boro.

The Shrimps have been the early season entertainers - second highest scorers in the league whilst also conceding the joint-third highest amount of goals (level with us).

Saturday’s visitors have been strong on the road – four wins, three draws and two defeats is a good return by any teams standards

Head to Head:

It has been 10 years and 10 games since our last defeat to Morecambe, a 4-1 defeat which had Ronnie Henry and George Boyd in the team whilst former coaches Dino Maamria and Jason Goodliffe were on the bench!

Overall we have won 13 games, drawn 11 and lost 8 across all our meetings with the Shrimps.

Our last meeting:

Betting with Sky Bet:

Boro are close favourites to win on Saturday - 8/5 with official league sponsors, Sky Bet.

With Chris Whelpdale having scored four goals in his last eight games, he is our best bet for first goalscorer – 7/1 whilst he is 16/1 to score a brace.
