CELEBRATE THE STEVENAGE FC ACADEMY WITH US THIS WEEKEND

10 September 2015

Watch Boro's youngsters in action across the weekend!

This Saturday and Sunday sees Stevenage FC host its first Academy Weekend to raise awareness of the Stevenage FC Academy's activities and achievements.

Over the past few years the academy has enjoyed great success, improving across all age bands from Under-9 to Under-16 levels, seeing some great international success stories and also seeing the growth of the youth structure with the introduction of Shadow Squads, Development Centres and Elite College Programme schemes at Marriotts School and Cheshunt.

With events taking place across the two days, we encourage you all to come and support our Academy and watch the future of Stevenage FC in action.

Saturday 12th September
10am-2pm - Academy Fun Morning, Shephalbury
First up on Saturday is a fun morning at Shephalbury from 10am where you can try the STS Tyre Pros 'Through the Tyre Challenge' for yourself, test your accuracy with the Foundation's inflatable speed cage and then watch the Under-18s Youth Alliance game against Northampton from 11am. Fans can also enjoy a BBQ on site and participate in a raffle to win a signed Stevenage FC home shirt and signed ball.

3pm - Stevenage v York, The Lamex Stadium
Over 300 youngsters from the Stevenage FC youth structure - including players from the Academy, Shadow Squads, Development Centres and Elite Development Programmes - will be in the crowd for this game, with the Academy teams from Under-9 to Under-16 levels parading around the pitch at half-time. Members of the Under-18s will also be interviewed during the half time break.

Sunday 13th September
11am - Stevenage v MK Dons, Marriotts School
Stevenage fans are then invited to watch the possible players of the future on Sunday as the Under-10s, Under-12s and Under-14s all play MK Dons. All three games kick-off at 11am at Marriotts School and we'll be providing coverage of the Under-10s during their match.

The Under-10s will play seven-a-side on the 3G pitch at Marriotts Sport Centre, to the rear of the school off Telford Way. Meanwhile the Under-12s play nine-a-side and the Under-14s play 11-a-side with both games taking place on the grass pitches out the front of Marriotts School, accessible via Brittain Way. All games kick-off at 11am and are four periods of 20 minutes.

The Academy Under-10s are in action this Sunday against MK Dons
