Boro's boss makes the four-man shortlist after an unbeaten month of league fixtures which included successive away wins at Accrington Stanley and Portsmouth, plus a home draw against Yeovil Town.
Darren is nominated alongside Wycombe's Gareth Ainsworth, Blackpool's Gary Bowyer and Doncaster Rovers' Darren Ferguson.
The winner will be announced later this week.
