YOUNG PATIENTS RECEIVE CHRISTMAS SURPRISE

15 December 2016

Stevenage FC first team players and management joined Boro Bear at the Lister Hospital last night to meet young patients and members of staff.

The annual visit, organised by the Supporters Association, saw Darren Sarll, Chris Day, Rowan Liburd, Dale Gorman, Tom Conlon, Steve Schumacher & Andrew Fox visit the Bluebell Ward and Children's A&E department.

The players handed out around 100 presents (supplied by the SA) and pizza (supplied by Pizza Hut) and spent time chatting with families who were in over the Christmas period.

First Team Manager, Darren Sarll talked about the experience.

“We are in a privileged position as football people so it is important we do what we can in the community.

“Visiting the children’s wards here at the Lister is something we all love to do as seeing the smiles on the kid’s faces is something very special.

“We also can’t forget all the nurses, doctors and staff who do an amazing job every day.”

The club would like to give a special thanks to Claire Hickey and Jackie Berners for organising the event on behalf of the Supporters Association along with Pizza Hut at Stevenage Leisure Park for providing the food for free.
