Stevenage Ladies are through to the Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup Final after a 4-2 (after extra time) win over Royston Ladies last weekend.
Boro had to do things the hard way in blustery conditions at Codicote, recovering from a goal deficit at half-time after conceding a first half penalty. Hollie Jardine equalised from close range in the second half and when Donna McGuigan fired home spectacularly from distance it put Stevenage ahead, only for battling Royston to equalise in stoppage time and force extra time.
Both sides had chances in the additional 30 minutes but further goals from McGuigan and Nicole Perschky saw Boro emerge victorious.
Stevenage - current holders of the competition
- will face Watford Ladies U19 Development side in the final at The County Ground in Letchworth on Sunday 13th March, 3pm KO.
