OGILVIE: I WAS KEEN TO STAY

13 January 2016

Connor Ogilvie has expressed his delight having yesterday signed a new loan deal with the club, extending his stay from Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking shortly after putting pen to paper, Ogilvie says it was in everybody’s best interests.

“I was keen to stay so I am really pleased to have got it sorted. I have loved it so far and want to see out the season here.

“From the feedback I have been getting, Spurs are pleased too. They want me playing games and progressing which I have been doing so it was best for all parties.”

Ogilvie has become a key first team player since joining the club and the left-back explained which aspects of the game being at Boro has taught him the most.

“Resilience and the physicality of being able to deal with all the different players you come across. Learning how to fight on the pitch, the pressure of needing to get results and to climb up the table. I have learned a lot here.”

Despite currently sitting in lower-mid table, Ogilvie believes that the team have improved a lot since the start of the season and that results will soon pick up.

“Definitely. We have got the players and staff to get the results, we just need to get on a run and build our confidence back up. Although the last few games haven’t been great, we have come on quite a lot as a team.”

Finally, ever since joining the Stevenage fans have taken Ogilvie in with open arms and he says that he appreciates their support.

“The fans have been excellent. I get a lot of nice comments and messages which is always a boost so I would like to say a big thank you to them too.”
