Last Season
For the Mariners, it was sixth time lucky, as they finally returned to the Football League for the first time since 2010. After scraping past Braintree Town in the play-off semi-finals, Grimsby saw off Forest Green Rovers to end six years of heartbreaks and setbacks in non-league. Despite winning promotion, Grimsby suffered a similar fate to Stevenage in 2010 when they simultaneously lost the FA Trophy final to Halifax at Wembley.

Key Players
Despite promotion, a lot of upheaval has taken place at Blundell Park for next season. The signings of Danny Andrew and Ben Davies will add some versatility and steel to the defence and midfield. Despite losing top scorer Padraig Amond to Hartlepool, Omar Bogle will be key in filling the void, having scored 16 times last season. The loan of Dominic Vose from Scunthorpe could also be key, with the 22-year-old eager to prove himself.
