UP NEXT: BISHOP'S STORTFORD (A)

15 July 2016

After last night's game against Watford, it's a quick turnaround for Stevenage FC as they travel to Bishop's Stortford tomorrow (Saturday 16th July, 3pm) in the third pre-season friendly of the summer.

This game at the ProKit UK Stadium will see Boro come up against a Blues side who finished 11th in the Vanarama National League South last season.

After the departure of former manager Rod Stringer to Chelmsford City in May, Bishop's Stortford promoted Head of Player Recruitment and Scouting Gordon Boateng as their new manager. He has overseen just the one pre-season friendly to-date, a 1-1 draw with Barkingside.

Admission to the ground is £8 for Adults, £5 for all Concessions and Under-12s accompanied by an adult will be admitted free.

Directions have been provided below by Bishop's Stortford and parking at the ground is just £1.

Travelling from Stevenage
From Stevenage take the A602 towards Ware and then join the A10 heading northbound. Turn right onto the A120 towards Bishop's Stortford, travelling through Standon and then straight on at the Little Hadham traffic lights. At the next roundabout, now on the outskirts of the town, do not follow signs into the town centre but continue around the by-pass (A120) still following M11 signs. Go straight over at the next roundabout (Stansted Mountfitchet & Saffron Walden left, Bishop's Stortford right) and proceed up the hill through the woods still on the A120.

At the next roundabout (you will see the M11 junction roundabout just ahead of you) - take the last exit. This is the 'Dunmow Road'. Proceed for a few hundred yards (golf club on your left) and take the first turning on the right.

Travelling from the M11
From all directions exit M11 at Junction 8 (please note that junction 8 now has two exits, the first - signposted for Bishop's Stortford and the Motorway Services is the one you want). On the M11 roundabout take 2nd exit (1st exit is for the services only). Within 200 yds is another roundabout. Take 1st exit. After about 400 yds take first right (opposite the golf club) into Industrial Estate and follow the road around to your right. The ground and car park (£1 entrance) are straight ahead.

Travelling by Train
Bishop's Stortford railway station is on the Liverpool Street to Cambridge line. Fast & frequent services and some Stansted Express trains stop at Stortford station. Check before boarding. From Liverpool Street the journey time is between 35 and 47 minutes (fast or all-stops trains). The ground is a good 25 minute walk from the station, but there is a taxi-rank immediately outside the booking office. Also, bus service nos. 308 and 509 going to Stansted Airport stop at “Riverside” (behind Marks & Spencer and adjacent multi-storey car park - 3 minute walk from rail station and pass Woodside. The bus times are 07 and 37 past the hour – journey time 10-15 minutes.
