The Boro boss gives his views on Fixture Release Day and looks ahead to the new season...

Stevenage's fixtures for the new 2016/17 season were released earlier this morning and Darren Sarll has told us he's not scared of facing any side in this new campaign.

Boro will begin with a home game against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday 6th August (3pm) and the manager has said the new campaign will bring its own twists and tales.

He told us, "Fixture Release Day is always an exciting day in the pre-season calendar where you start to visualise what teams look like based on the form that they finished with.

"We know that we finished as strongly as anyone and that means the excitement is even more exaggerated.

"Whether we are at home or away the logic behind it is that we have to face everyone at some stage and the form we think we know, or the strength we think we know of each team is actually irrelevant as the new season will bring new stats, performances and surprises.

"I finished the season not being scared to face any side in this league and I can honestly say that I'll start that way!

"An opening game at home gives an early opportunity for the whole town to get behind the team as we look to make The Lamex Stadium a fortress and hopefully get us off to a really positive start."
