STEVENAGE PLAYERS ON INTERNATIONAL DUTY

29 March 2016

Catch up with our boys on their international travels...

With several Stevenage FC players in international action this weekend, here's a quick round-up of how they got on with their countries and what's yet to come.

Both Ben Kennedy and Nathan Kerr featured in Northern Ireland Under-19's narrow 1-0 defeat to the Netherlands in the UEFA European Under-19 Championships Elite Stage on Saturday. Neither was selected for Thursday's defeat to Poland but Kerr played the full 90 minutes in Saturday's game and captain Kennedy played 81 minutes before being subbed. Their final group game is against Ukraine this evening (7.30pm).

First year scholar Liam Brady played the second half as Republic of Ireland U18s lost 4-1 to England in a behind-closed-doors friendly at St George's Park.

Meanwhile on-loan winger Ryan Hedges featured for the full 90 minutes in Wales Under-21s goalless draw at home to Bulgaria. Although losing top spot in Group 5 to Denmark, that draw made it six qualifying games undefeated ahead of a tricky trip to Romania this afternoon (4pm).

Also hoping to be in international action this evening are Ryan Johnson and Dale Gorman. Both are with the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad ahead of this afternoon's Group 3 qualifying game against Scotland (4pm).
