ENGLAND UNDER-18S BEAT POLAND 2-0

10 November 2016

England beat Poland 2-0 in tonight's Under-18 international friendly at Stevenage FC.

Roared on by an excellent crowd of 2,655, a double from George Hirst secured victory for the Young Lions at The Lamex Stadium.

After a battling first half which saw plenty of commitment but few chances on goal, Sheffield Wednesday youngster Hirst slid in to put Boro ahead seven minutes before the break.

The striker was then fouled in the box four minutes into the second half, before dusting himself down and slotting home a second from the spot.

Poland, roared on by pockets of enthusiastic fans around the stadium, created chances as the game progressed but couldn't find a way past Brentford's Ellery Balcombe.

The next game here at The Lamex is this Saturday 12th November against Yeovil Town. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.borotickets.co.uk.
