SOUTHEND VISIT IN FINAL CHECKATRADE TROPHY GROUP GAME TOMORROW

Stevenage welcome Southend United to The Lamex Stadium tomorrow (Tuesday 8th November, 7.45pm) in the final Checkatrade Trophy group game of this season's competition.

Boro currently sit fourth in the Southern Group G table but can still reach the knockout stages, albeit only in the unlikely event that Stevenage win, Brighton beat Leyton Orient on penalties after a draw and Boro get a four goal swing in their favour to finish above Orient.

Tickets cost from £3-£10 and only the West Stand (home fans) and South Stand (away fans) will be open for this fixture.

Checkatrade Trophy 2016/17 selected stats:
  • Over 80% of players in starting line-ups have been under-21 
  • Almost 250 English players aged 21 and under started for Category 1 teams in the first two match days 
  • A total of 24 young players (aged 15-18) made their debuts for League One and League Two sides in the opening match day 
  • Over 85,000 people attended games in the first two match days

  • EFL clubs have won 53 of the 64 ties so far. Category 1 clubs have won 11. 
  • Clubs must include five out of the 11 players who started the previous or following league fixture (defined under current full strength team rules), thus presenting an opportunity for academy/under 21 EFL players to participate in meaningful competition
  • Clubs will benefit from financial prizes as they progress through the competition £10,000 per win and £5,000 per draw during the Group Stage
