Rookies Day Nursery is looking to appoint a new Nursery Manager at its state-of-the-art facility at Shephalbury.
Rookies, having acquired Lily’s Day Nursery in 2014, opened their first setting in Stevenage last year. It's a totally new, 5000 sq feet prestigious, purpose built nursery on one level, which is the first of several new settings planned.
Rookies is currently graded Good by OFSTED and aspires to be Outstanding, based on the highest quality of care. Teaching Learning & Assessment takes place within the unique welcoming environment of bright, spacious rooms, high ceilings and natural sunlight, encouraging engagement and enabling environment.
You will work to achieve an OFSTED Outstanding grading and lead the effective delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and any other legal/statutory requirements.
You will have a strong understanding of the EYFS statutory requirements and be capable of motivating and training a team of practitioners to provide the highest quality child care. Successful candidates will have:
- A track record of Sector experience (EYF)
- An effective Leadership/Senior record
- An effective approach to enabling and embedding Quality
- Leading, achieving & evidencing the settings progress against the OFSTED inspection framework
You will, as a minimum, be qualified to NVQ level 3, but preference is given to candidates with higher qualifications. The ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise workload is essential, as is knowledge and understanding of key legislation related to childcare and education. We require candidates to have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and be strong in building relationships with children, staff, parents and guardians
