Boro boss Darren Sarll says; “I like to lead my life with determination and positivity; I certainly won’t be looking over my shoulder.”
Stevenage travel to Yeovil this weekend occupying the final play-off spot in the Sky Bet League Two table, but manager Sarll says his team only need to look at what is in front of them and not worry about the chasing pack below.
“Our target will always be what is ahead of us. If people think we want to finish 7th then that is not the case. We want to get to 6th and to do that we need to beat Yeovil. When we are 6th, we will try to catch the team in 5th and so on.”
Stevenage have their destiny in their own hands with two games remaining and Sarll says his team are excited for the challenge ahead.
“We are very determined to make the most of a fabulous opportunity. It is one that also excites us.
“We know we have to jump one hurdle at a time. We have to deal with Yeovil and then hopefully be in a good position to attack Accrington.”
The boss says it has been a good week of training with a number of playing getting back to full fitness.
Ben Kennedy came off the bench on Saturday and Sarll says he will leave it until the last minute to decide if he starts against Yeovil.
“I would like to think we can get Ben on the pitch at some stage, whether that be as an impact player like he was on Saturday, or whether physically he could be in a positon to start, I don’t know.”
Yeovil will be looking to finish their season strongly despite a 4-2 defeat away at Grimsby last week and Sarll thinks his side will be in for a tough game.
“Darren Way will have his team highly motivated and driven. We will not underestimate the challenge of Yeovil and there is never an easy game in League Two.”
