Onto the game…

For the EIGHTH season in a row, Stevenage are kicking the campaign off at the Lamex Stadium. Boro will be hoping to change their opening day fortunes though, having only won one of those previous eight.

After a miracle escape from the drop last season, Newport County will surely be looking to consolidate their league status under hometown boss, Michael Flynn. The Exiles will be gearing up for their fifth successive season in League Two, following promotion in 2013.

New signing Alex Samuel will hope to make an impression against his former club, having spent the second half of last season at Rodney Parade. Samuel won the Supporters Player of the Year award for the Welsh side, instrumental in their run to survival.
