The U18s face Southend tomorrow morning in the second game of their league season..

The game kicks off at 10:30am at Shepalbury Academy and is open for all supporters to come and watch.

U18s Head Coach Jorden Gibson says that after last weekend’s 4-3 win against Gillingham, the camp are in good spirits.

“It has been a good week. Many of our boys played in the reserves victory against Southend on Tuesday and we are pleased with the win last Saturday.

“Southend are always a good test. We get on really well with their coaching team and we know that they are always big games.

“Beating them Tuesday means absolutely nothing. I expect a physical game, a fast game and a very good game with both sides wanting to play good football.”

Gibson admits that he will be facing selection headaches tomorrow morning.

“We have had two goalkeepers both back in contention and having had really good weeks. They both got 45 minutes on Tuesday and I am really pleased to see both Ryan (Schmid) and Harry (Payne) back.

“It is not just goalkeepers - Andronicos Georgiou is in really good form. Marcus Gouldbourne is playing really well, Claudio Ofosu is impressing and it is all about finding the right balance.

"The team that will play against Southend will be whoever has trained the best from Sunday to matchday.

“It is only the second game of the season and it is important not to get too ahead of ourselves because there is obviously a long way to go.”

After the U18s finish, don't miss Saturday's big game at home to Grimsby. Tickets are available on the turnstiles - click the image below for all the prices and info.
