Video & Quotes from the boss...

  • Sarll on not making the most of a good start to the game…

“The away performances have been very similar in that we have struggled to take that first goal when chances have been aplenty at times.

“In the first half we had three forward v goalie situations. Newton had one a couple of yards out, Samuel had one a couple of yards out and we have failed to get that really important first goal.

“The first goal is vitally important in these games, especially at the time when I thought we were on top. For the first 30, 35 minutes we were comfortable and what transpires is a typical Lincoln goal.

“To go in 1-0 down at half-time was disappointment and on reflection, they are game changers.”

  • Sarll on a poor second half showing…

“It was very disappointing because we gave more experience to the team in the second half and the decisions were inexperienced, naïve decisions and they cost us.

“The two goals in the second half have been with a back four of I don’t know, 1500 games between them? That is the disappointing element of it and why we give young players a chance here. When you come here, you definitely have to take your chances when they are presented.

“The big away wins we had last year, we took chances when they were presented, we didn’t wait. No-one misses on purpose but they are key moments.

“We have another big, big away game now on Saturday at Crawley. We have to show much more teeth in the final third and we may have to shake things up again.”

  • Sarll on Vancooten’s injury & knocks to the side…

“We suspect it is a fractured cheekbone which just goes to show the nature of the game. You have to be big boys and brave here.

“We have had a few knocks. Godden has had a knock, Samuel and Henry have got their thighs wrapped up so we have taken a few bruises.”
