Video & Quotes from the boss...

  • Sarll on a good opportunity to get back to winning ways...

“It’s not been good enough. No-one pretends, no-one hides from that and we have to resolve and we have to resolve it pretty quickly.

“The players are as desperate as anyone would ever be to try and holt that and we have a real terrific chance to try and remedy the situation.

“You can’t just walk around like a bear with a sore head, being negative and grumpy. I don’t think I want to live my life like that and I don’t really want to be that person.

“The players are told, shown and then we have to move on to the next project which is Chesterfield."

  • Sarll on remaining calm...

“This is no different to last year. This is why I am quite calm and methodical about it, because we have gone through these periods before and we have always come out the other side.

"We have always come out the other side because of the quality of the people that we have here.

“Forget about footballers, just the quality of their work ethic and no-one enjoys losing and no-one enjoys being on a losing run.

“I thrive on people poking me and putting their finger on my chest and saying ‘that ain’t good enough, do something about it’.

"I thrive on that, it sharpens my focus. It sharpens how I want to work and it makes me more fierce and the players are similar.

“So we know it is there. We have only lost 3 in 9 so it is not like we have lost 6 games in a row and for the last 6 weeks we have been talking about defeats every week.

“But for now we just need to address the simple fact that we need to get a win in before the close of the year.

“And Saturday at home to Chesterfield, where I think we have been pretty decent lately, is the perfect chance to put things right."

  • Sarll on Saturday's opponents...

“Chesterfield have definitely improved since Jack’s become manager, there’s no question about that.

“Not that I’ve met Jack before or work with him or in any capacity, but there is definitely an improvement in Chesterfield and I think we saw that from the Wycombe game Saturday.

“So it will be a difficult game, a really difficult game and the scenario, the situation, can sometimes eclipse the actual opponent and that is what we have to be very careful not to do.

“We have to play Chesterfield in its single entity, in their own right. We have to try very hard to move everything else to one side and get focused on what we can affect which is the game that is ahead of us."
