  • Onto the game…

With 2017 now in the books, Boro fans, staff and players alike will be hoping that the New Year will bring new fortune as a run of one win in twelve league games has seen Stevenage slide down the Sky Bet League Two table.

Most of the teams problems have come on the road, as home form has been solid, if not spectacular. It has been seven games since Boro have tasted defeat at the Lamex Stadium, a run stretching back to the middle of October.

Just past the mid point of the season, Darren Sarll's side sit ten points from the play-offs and ten points from the relegation zone.

Sat firmly in midtable but with nothing certain and anything still possible - last season's late push up the table is still very much fresh in the memory.

Cheltenham are just one point ahead of Stevenage having turned around their desperate early season form in impressive fashion.

The Robins come into the game on the back of a disapointing two game home stand, just one point picked up at the LCI Rail Stadium against Yeovil and Cheltenham.

They did however pick up a win on their last outing away, a 2-0 triumph at Barnet just before Christmas.

  • Team news…

With just 48 hours inbetween games, there is bound to be some knocks and bruises carried over from the defeat at Crawley.

Both Terence Vancooten and Danny Newton could make their returns to the squad though after picking up knocks in the Boxing Day game at Sincil Bank.

  • Previous meetings...

Through 14 games between Stevenage and Cheltenham, it is all square between the two sides with 4 wins, 5 draws and 4 defeats apiece.

In recent years though, Boro have had their way with the Robins with 5 wins and 1 draw in the last 6 meetings.
