Video & Quotes from the boss...

  • Sarll on a thrilling afternoon at the Lamex…

“It was exhilarating, frustrating, anxious, positive, rewarding – all of those things. Hopefully it can go down as one of those top games here at the Lamex.

“They have been fantastic all week in training, absolutely fantastic. If we had not won today, I would have thrown 17 years of coaching experience down the pan and thought ‘oh my, what do we have to do?'.

“The players attitude in training has been brilliant all week. I knew that if we could get off to a good start we could probably push on and make it comfortable.

“They are a very good side and we all know that, it is a big club but I thought we gave entertainment – that is the best way to describe it today."

  • Sarll on dedicating the win to recently passed, Dermot Drummy…

“I would like to dedicate that to Dermot Drummy and his family, who sadly passed away this week.

“Dermot was a friend and someone I was getting to know better so for him to pass at such an early age, it was devastating on Monday when I found out.

“If Dermot wanted the game played, that is how he would have wanted it. He was an unbelievably enthusiastic purist of football.”

  • Sarll on being sent to the stands…

“It was absolute nonsense; Dave (Flitcroft) will say the same. Dave and Ben (Futcher) are trying to get to their player who is in my technical area.

“I obviously don’t want the opposition in my technical area, so someone has got to do something. You can’t just open the gate and say here you come and the chaos then builds.

"It fizzled out into nothing. The fourth official said I cannot grasp someone’s jacket the way I did. It was silly.

“I can’t believe I have nearly got to 100 games without it happening."

  • Sarll on Roeder seeing out the job & Monday’s draw…

“He is a top man. I went and sat in the boardroom seats in front of the Chairman and I said it is not often you can put someone who has taken two Premier League teams down there as a replacement.

“You can start dreaming now but let’s be nice and balanced because I want to get into the Fourth Round.

"So let’s make sure we get a good tie in any which way it can help the football club – either in progression or all the other bits that the FA Cup can bring.”
