Quotes & Video from the Gaffer...

  •  Sarll on the performance...

“I was really pleased. I thought their attitude tonight was terrific.

“Norwich are a very good side and we thank them for bringing such a good collection of players down.

"I thought the players coped great. The biggest thing I can take away is we were 1-0 down we carried on trying to pass it, carried on trying to press. When we were 2-0 down, we carried on trying to pass it and trying to press.

"Second half, after a really slow start, I thought this is going to be a long 45 minutes. When Newton and Grey got going, it helped the team come up the pitch and for 12/13 minutes, that young team had a Championship side on the ropes.

"It was that lovely momentum and you could feel the ground lift. You could feel, hopefully, the supporters seeing what my vision is for the football club."

  • Sarll on a young defence keeping a second half clean sheet...

“Ben Wilmot is a second year apprentice, junior pro with us at the club and for him to mark Cameron Jerome is a terrific learning curve for him physically and technically.

"I thought he coped well, he didn't look like he was out of his depth. He has obviously got a lot of maturing to do but I thought him and Ryan did as well as they could against them."

  • Sarll on Godden, Kennedy & King...

"We are very careful with Ben, he has kind of had a little reoccurrence in the testing with his groin and the same with Jack.

"We want them ready for August 5th, not Norwich at home in a pre-season friendly.

"Matt Godden again just a tight calf, no problems there, he will train again Thursday and we will carry on working through the list.”
