Two of the biggest women’s clubs in Hertfordshire are going to go head to head on Sunday July 16th at The County Ground, Letchworth Garden City.
Stevenage Ladies and Watford Ladies will be putting on a showcase of talented players when Stevenage Reserves will play Watford Development which will be followed by Stevenage Ladies (Women’s Premier League) Vs Watford Ladies (WSL2) starting with a 12 noon KO.
Over the past few year’s Stevenage have gone from strength to strength winning promotion into the WPL and reaching they last three county cup finals, becoming champions twice in 2015 and this season just gone so are current champions.
Club Chairman Dave Potter is delighted to have secured such strong opposition for their first pre-season friendly, “We would like to continue on our journey and to be able to play the best team in the area for us to learn and grow as a team and individually as players is a great test this early on in the season.”
The aim of the day is to promote women’s football as well as raise some much-needed funds to enable Stevenage Ladies to continue to provide coaching and games to the best players in the area. For both games, there is a small entrance fee on the day of £3.50 Under 12’s £1.
