Onto the game…

With Coventry 5 points ahead of Boro and nestled just inside the play-off places, Darren Sarll and his side will be eager for all three points tonight to close that gap and stay in contention.

The players will be hoping to recreate a performance similair to our last win in the league, at home to Accrington on a Tuesday just over a month ago.

Coventry meanwhile have won their last two league games away from home and have won four of five in all competitions.

Despite lofty expectations, the Sky Blues suffered a slow start to their campaign which they have picked up in recent weeks.

Team news…

There is thought to be no major injury issues within the Stevenage First Team squad, Ben Kennedy the lone player definitely out of contention.

Kevin Toner has now served his three game suspension and will be available for selection whilst Coventry are without right-back Jack Grimmer who will be out with concussion.

Sky Blues leading scorer, Duckens Nazon is also out after picking up a suspension following his fifth yellow card of the season.

View from both camps...

Stevenage boss, Darren Sarll…

Coventry boss, Mark Robins…

“They are a decent side who have some decent players who will hurt you if they can.

“There is a lad up front, Danny Newton, who we were looking at and he’s banging goals in all over the place, so they have threats and we have to make sure we’re at it.

“We have our scouting department and they had a look at it and thought that there were other players out there who we were going to go for. And bear in mind he hadn’t played at this level.

“But now he’s done it and sometimes you miss some, and it looks like we may have missed one there, but you can’t sign everyone.”

Previous meetings...

Tuesday’s game will be the first meeting between the two sides in over three years and only the fifth time ever we have squared off.

Coventry lead the standings with 3 wins, 1 draw and just 1 defeat. That win coming in our first ever meeting, a televised clash back in 2012 which saw goals from Marcus Haber and Robin Shroot help Boro to a 2-1 win.
