The boss on TVC's new deal...

Darren Sarll says Terence Vancooten's new contract is the least he deserves after an impressive start to the season for the young defender.

Injuries and suspensions meant Vancooten was thrust into the centre back spotlight in mid-September and the 19 year old hasn't looked back since.

“Terence has rightly been rewarded for his elevation within the squad. Our model is to blood and produce young players in a very competitive market and Terence is testament to that. He has acquitted himself with maturity and composure and we believe in his pathway.

“As with all young players, the upward curve is never straight and we have to all be grounded when evaluating a young player’s performance in an industry solely based on results and winning.

“I think Terence has made improvements to our side in the short space of time he has played, which has showed in the fact we have won 4 in the 5 games he has started including 2 clean sheets."

“This a good start for a Terence and he realises that he must retain an ambition and hunger to continually improve, whilst the team consistently wins.”
