Video & Quotes from Glenn Roeder...

  • Roeder on the fans & getting back on track...

“Yeah we have had a mini blip that we have to put right on Saturday at home to Morecambe. It was very disappointing to take just one point from the two home games, in particular. We know we should be doing better, whether it is at home or away.

“I think that the Stevenage fans since I have been here have been terrific. We obviously want more to come and we know that requires us winning more, getting into the play-offs and staying in that part of the table for the rest of the season.

“But the fans who do come, I feel are very supportive and they get behind us.

“Sometimes we haven’t always fulfilled their expectations, but that means that we haven’t fulfilled ours either. But it is about us getting back to winning this Saturday and then the same at Carlisle midweek.

“Ultimately a win is the most critical thing - this week and every week.”

  • Roeder on what he expects out of Morecambe…

“They have four points from their last two games after not starting the season so well. I have watched them a lot this week myself and it is still the same Jim Bentley team that plays it out from the back, wants to pass the ball and play attractive football.

“We have made our plans, worked hard on those plans and hopefully we can counteract them and get us the win that we need. We will certainly be pressing hard anyway.

“We expect 3 points whoever we are playing, whether it is the team top of the table or team in the bottom 5 or 6. We expect 3 points - that is how high our standards have been set.”

  • Roeder on Jack King’s progress…

“Jack King is doing a bit more each day, but we are getting to a stage now where after being so patient, we don’t want to blast him too soon and go back to square one.

“When you get a little bit older, Jack is 32; you start to get the wear and tear kick-in so he just needs looking after. Luckily we have the staff to do that.”
